How to write a Music Review Print E-mail
Written by Audible

We value the community's input, diversity is a part of God's value in beauty expressed, so we're working to create tools to make that community heard.

To ADD a RATING to a existing review:
register, login in, and go to the reviews page and pick what you want to rate. You don't have to leave a full review, just insert a space so the website will submit your rating.

To CREATE an item to review:
You will have to either get rights (author status by contacting us ) to post an ITEM on the reviews page or write a request for us to post it.

How to create an item and speak your mind on Hip Hop music...

Straight up, really, no one is going to read a long review about an album in this fast paced internet world we got going. So we're going to cut it down to the basics to make it easy for you and them. This is only a template on how I found it best to go about it quick:

Reviews Hip Hop Add new item here

New Item Name: Follow this format, "Artist Name - Album Name "

Abstract: If and when you post a album to be put in the database, the system will ask you write a description of the album, I found it's best to just copy what others have to say and list where the description came from, so you can focus more on the review. If not, just put a blank space and it will let you through! We can always change it later.

Album art: Please use a small picture, about 150x150 pixels probably from amazon.com or google search for it. You have to click "include image 1 in abstract" to have it appear as the album art and choose image 1 to a picture you saved on your computer.

Lyrics: Describe wordplay, styles, harmony, and all that has to do with lyrical skills.

Beats: Production, pacing, melody, feeling, etc.

Conscious: This is the hard one, but what makes this web community different than others - trying to figure what the entirety of lyrics and beats speak about. What's the message and is it relevant, bringing something to culture and ideas. Adding to knowledge and understanding or uplifting the soul. What issues does it discuss and is it speaking in respect or just anger?

Choice Tracks (Optional): Tracks you think make the album, this is great for the itunes generation that only buys singles.

Sample Lyrics (Optional): Share some lyrics you like. Pretty time consuming, but for those deep dedicated Hip Hop heads. I always found it a defining point of Conscious Hip Hop, because it's words actually matter and mean more.

Rating: Click on add rating after posting

Then all you have to do is rate the review, the stars follow what we covered, so it should be easy once you went through this. Quality ratio follows good tracks divided by total tracks. Write a short final statement along with the rating if you want, or just leave it blank by putting a space. If you ever run into a problem and need something deleted, hit me up on email. That's it!
